The MLBPAA has announced that it is teaming up with the Hall of Fame to stage the inaugural Hall of Fame Classic, which will replace the defunct Hall of Fame Game on the 2009 baseball calendar. 
The Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA) was formed in 1982 in order to promote the game of baseball, involve former MLB players in community activities, inspire today's youth through positive sports images and raise funds to support important charitable causes.
